Leading Primary STEM for the Future is your chance to reimagine how you teach STEM in the classroom and beyond.

Grounded in robust educational research, and in partnership with major STEM individuals and organisations, this course empowers teachers with proven strategies for effective STEM teaching and learning.  The fully-funded course is purpose-built to upskill primary educators in delivering inspiring, hands-on science and maths lessons. Developed by Education Academy Scotland in partnership with My Science Club, Thales UK and STEM Learning, the course provides practical tools, expert knowledge, and renewed confidence to create impactful STEM learning experiences.

You’ll explore how to make STEM education meaningful and relevant by connecting your teaching to real-world contexts, including Scotland’s key growth sectors. Help your learners see the future possibilities in STEM careers and empower them to get there.


Course components

Application Information

By completing an application, you are accepting all of the following terms and conditions:

  1. Applicants must be current primary teachers in Scotland, GTCS registered and PVG scheme members
  2. Twenty course places are awarded by a judging team and their decision is final
  3. Applicants must provide personal data which will be securely stored by TEAS; successful applicant data will be stored for up to 12 months after the programme is complete, applicants not chosen will have their data deleted immediately
  4. Applicants must have the approval and supporting statement of their Headteacher to participate in this course
  5. Successful applicants will commit to attending all face-to-face and in-person classes/sessions listed in the programme timeline and accept that low attendance may result in their withdrawal from the course
  6. Successful applicants will take part in evaluation activity to assess the impact of the programme
  7. Successful applicants commit to sharing and cascading their CPD withing their centre to colleagues 
  8. Successful applicants consent to video/photography and its use to promote and celebrate the programme
  9. Applicants accept that completing the application process in no way guarantees their selection for the programme
