Applications of Maths – powered by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is a fully funded learning programme designed to help young people and adults achieve the National 5 Applications of Mathematics qualification, alongside the National 5 Numeracy Unit Award.
Delivered by TEAS during the 2026/27 academic year, this unique programme combines formal learning with employer engagement, helping learners understand how mathematics is applied across real careers in construction, engineering, and industry.
A cohort of 20 learners will benefit from expert teaching, ongoing support, and direct access to role models and professionals from Morgan Sindall Infrastructure throughout the programme.
What Learners Will Receive

- Full delivery of the National 5 Applications of Mathematics course
- National 5 Numeracy Unit Award

The programme has been designed to make mathematics practical, engaging, and relevant by linking learning directly to real-world applications within construction and engineering sectors.

Cohort Size: 20 learners
Launch Date: August 2026 (final exam Apr/May 2027, Glasgow)
Classes: Wednesday evenings, online, 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Additional Engagement: 10 employer role model sessions delivered by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure staff following classes throughout the academic year

Application Information
By completing an application, you are accepting all the following terms and conditions:
- Scholarships are awarded by a judging team and their decision is final
- Applicants must provide personal data which will be securely stored by TEAS and will be shared with relevant Morgan Sindall staff
- Successful applicant data will be stored for up to 12 months after the scholarship is complete, applicants not chosen for the scholarship will have their data deleted immediately
- Applicants must provide the email address for a suitable person such as a teacher, lecturer, or relevant other, who will be asked to provide a reference on the suitability of the applicant for this programme; applicants must have the advance permission of this person to share their email address with us
- Where the applicant is under 18, the parent/carer of the applicant will provide a supporting statement in the application, and the contact details for that parent/carer
- Applications cannot progress without references mentioned above
- Successful applicants will commit to attending all relevant online and in-person classes and events (allowing for exceptional circumstances) and accept that continued absence will result in the removal of the scholarship
- Successful applicants will take part in short surveys to evaluate the impact of the scholarship
- Successful applicants consent to video/photography and its use to promote and celebrate the scholarship programme
- Applicants will positively support and act as ambassadors for the programme
- Applicants accept that completing the application process in no way guarantees their selection for the programme.
